DEA revoked a nurse practitioner’s registration and denied related pending applications after determining that the practitioner no longer possessed the state authority required to handle controlled substances in Indiana.

A nurse practitioner’s DEA registration was revoked after the Drug Enforcement Administration determined that she no longer held the Indiana state authority required to prescribe or otherwise handle controlled substances. The practitioner’s Indiana prescriptive authority licenses were placed in “Current/Not Practicing” status after she failed to maintain a required collaborative practice agreement and later expired. Because Indiana law requires an active controlled substances registration to dispense controlled substances, DEA concluded that she was ineligible to maintain a federal registration. The practitioner did not request a hearing in response to the agency’s Order to Show Cause, and DEA also denied any pending applications to renew, modify, or obtain additional registrations in Indiana (Notice, 91 Fed. Reg. 54885 (Aug. 25, 2026)).

Dates. This Order is effective September 24, 2026.
