Fordham University will hold a one-day panel discussion entitled “Antitrust Enforcement in the Americas and Consumer Harm - How Does Enforcement Help Consumers?” on June 11, 2014, at the Lincoln Center Campus, New York.

In recent years, antitrust agencies across the Americas have significantly stepped up their enforcement actions. Changes to enforcement policy in many jurisdictions across the Americas have raised the degree of regulatory risk. There are questions whether these actions actually help consumers. For companies that conduct business across the Americas, it has never been more important to be current on the international antitrust landscape.

A panel of antitrust experts representing four leading law firms in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. will examine these issues. Moderators and presenters include Olivier Antoine, Crowell & Moring LLP; Kent Bernard, Adjunct Professor, Fordham Law School; and Alfredo M. O’Farrell, Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal. Panelists expected to participate are Lucia Ojeda Cardenas, SAI; Jason Gudofsky, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP; Miguel del Pino, Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal; Amadeu Ribeiro, Mattos Filho; and Suzanne Wachsstock, Vice President and Chief Antitrust Counsel, American Express.

The discussion, co-sponsored by Fordham University and Crowell & Moring LLP, will be held at the Lincoln Center Campus—Leon Lowenstein Center, 12th Floor Lounge, 113 West 60th Street, New York, NY 10023.
