State Tax Day - Current, S.3, Colorado—Multiple Taxes: Penny Rounding Guidance Issued, (Mar 25, 2026)
Colorado issued guidance on rounding procedures for sales and use taxes following the cessation of penny production by the U.S. Treasury in November 2025. Retailers must calculate tax amounts to three decimal places and round sales tax based on specified thresholds. The guidance also applies to state and state-administered local sales taxes, retail delivery fees, retail marijuana sales taxes, and other related taxes and fees. Colorado invites public input to inform potential rulemaking regarding these procedures.
