Raagnee Beri takes over leadership of the Whistleblower Office more than a year after former chief Brian Young moved on to lead the agency’s Division of Enforcement.

The CFTC announced April 29 that Raagnee Beri is the new director of the Whistleblower Office.

Beri brings to her new position a wealth of CFTC experience, from serving as trial attorney for the Division of Enforcement to senior assistant general counsel in the litigation branch of CFTC’s Office of the General Counsel. She was also a DOJ trial attorney and federal judicial clerk in the past. She succeeds Brian Young, who left the Whistleblower Office in early 2025 to lead the CFTC’s Division of Enforcement, leaving the position vacant.

“‘I look forward to Raagnee blending her time as a CFTC enforcement attorney, her experience handling whistleblower appeal litigation, and her deep substantive Commodity Exchange Act expertise as she leads this important office,’” General Counsel Tyler Badgley remarked.

The CFTC’s Whistleblower Office operates a program that encourages reporting, safeguards whistleblowers’ confidentiality and provides anti-retaliation protections, and, since its inception, has distributed $390 million in awards.
