Global Daily Tax News, Bolivia Set To Further Expand Electronic Invoicing, (Jun 17, 2024)
Bolivia's National Tax Service is to further expand electronic invoicing obligations to more taxpayers from July 1, 2024.
Bolivia introduced mandatory electronic invoicing for the country's largest taxpayers beginning December 1, 2021, covering a total of 171 taxpayers registered for VAT – Large Taxpayers (GRACO) and Main Taxpayers (PRICO). On the same date, 47,698 smaller taxpayers were required to begin using electronic payment options, and they, too, were subject to the electronic invoicing rules from March 1, 2022.
Since then, the agency has been rolling out the regime in stages to a greater number of taxpayers, in several Normative Resolutions of the Board of Directors.
The July 1, 2024, start date applies for taxpayers listed in Normative Resolution no. 102400000002, issued in January this year.
At the same time, the eighth, ninth, and tenth group of taxpayers were designated in Normative Declarations numbers 102400000003, 102400000004, 102400000005. These taxpayers must begin issuing electronic invoices starting October 2024, December 2024, and February 1, 2025, respectively.
Additional taxpayers required to begin issuing electronic invoices from February 1, 2025, were designated last month in Resolution no. 102400000012.
