Cybersecurity Policy Report, Biden Signs Bill to Streamline Permitting for Cyber, Tech Projects, (Aug 18, 2022)

President Biden has signed a bill (S 3451) that extends the expedited environmental review and permitting process under the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act to include infrastructure projects concerning semiconductors, artificial intelligence and machine learning, high-performance computing and advanced computer hardware and software, quantum information science and technology, data storage and data management, or cybersecurity. S 3451 was introduced by Sen. Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.), passed the Senate by unanimous consent in January, and passed the House by a 303-89 vote on July 29.
