Bermuda has enacted the Payroll Tax Amendment (No. 2) Act 2026, providing for a simplified payroll tax regime for ridesharing permit holders.

The legislation provides that prospective providers of ride-hailing services must pay a flat rate of payroll tax of BMD400 (USD294) per year before receiving a ridesharing permit. This tax is payable in lieu of payroll tax otherwise payable.

The change is effective from April 24, 2026, the date on which the Motor Car (Ridesharing) Amendment Act 2026 entered into force.
