The American Antitrust Institute (AAI) has invited legal practitioners and economists to submit entries for the 2015 AAI Antitrust Enforcement Awards. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, following the AAI's Annual Private Enforcement Conference.

Three award categories have been identified for 2015:

Nominees are judged on: (1) the benefit realized by the client, consumers, or class; and (2) the positive development of antitrust policy.

    K. Craig Wildfang of Robins Kaplan Miller & Ciresi LLP received the award in 2014 for his work as co-lead counsel for the plaintiff class in In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Litigation, in which he secured approval of what is believed to be the largest-ever settlement of a private antitrust case.

Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer. This award is limited to private civil actions. Nominees should be individual practitioners under 40 years old or admitted to practice for 10 years or less. Nominees will be judged on: (1) the individual’s contribution to the case; (2) the benefit realized by the client, consumers, or class; and (3) the positive development of antitrust policy.

Matt Duncan of Fine, Kaplan and Black, R.P.C. received the award in 2014 for his work in In re Steel Antitrust Litigation. This award is limited to contributions within government or private civil or criminal antitrust litigation by an individual economist, team of economists, or economic consulting firm. Nominees are judged on: (1) the contribution to the development of antitrust-related economic methodology, analysis, and/or presentation; and (2) the positive development of antitrust policy.

UCLA’s Edward Leamer, Ph.D., received the award in 2014 for his work in In Re High-Tech Employee Antitrust Litigation.
