Terrell McSweeny started her official duties as an FTC Commissioner today, the agency announced. Nominated on June 21, 2013 and confirmed by the Senate on April 9, 2014, McSweeny will serve a term that runs through September 25, 2017. She is the third Democrat of the five-member Commission.

"We are very pleased that Terrell McSweeny is joining the Commission," Chairwoman Edith Ramirez said. "Her considerable experience in the law and public policy will be an asset to the agency as it continues to pursue its missions of protecting consumers and promoting competition."
