The Canada Competition Bureau will not challenge Marriott International, Inc.’s proposed acquisition of Delta Hotels and Resorts brand and related business from Delta Hotels Limited Partnership.

The Competition Bureau determined that, even with the proposed acquisition, other effective competitors in each geographic area of overlap would remain, including chain hotels and independent hotels. The transaction would therefore be unlikely to result in a substantial lessening or prevention of competition. Consequently, the Competition Bureau issued a No Action Letter with respect to the proposed transaction.

Delta operates and franchises 38 properties in over 30 cities across Canada. Marriott is a lodging company based in Maryland, with over 4,100 properties in 79 countries and territories.
