The European Commission has approved Danaher Corporation’s acquisition of Pall Corporation. Both are American companies. Danaher manufactures and sells a range of different professional, medical, industrial, and commercial products and equipment for water treatment. Pall manufactures and sells filtration technologies, associated hardware, and engineering systems. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns because the parties' activities do not overlap, according to a recent announcement. Even though they both supply equipment for water treatment, the products they supply employ different technologies and are used for different purposes (case number M. 7667).

Cinven acquisition of Labco. Separately, the EC announced that it approved the acquisition of Labco S.A. by Cinven Capital Management. Labco, of France, is a pan-European network of laboratories and offers a range of diagnostic tests, including medical biology diagnostics, anatomic pathology diagnostics and medical imaging diagnostics. Cinven, of Guernsey, is a private equity business active in the European buy-out market. It manages investment funds that control portfolio companies in a wide range of different industry sectors. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns because the parties' activities do not overlap and none of Cinven's portfolio companies purchases the type of biological testing services provided by Labco (case number M.7681).

Companies: Danaher Corporation; Pall Corporation; Labco S.A.; Cinven Capital Management.
